First things first. What is it?

Your Employer Brand is the reputation you have as a place to work from a candidate and current employee perspective – that relationship and resulting “gut feeling” about you about as a place to work.

Employer Branding then is how an organization brands and markets itself as an employer to attract and retain best-fit talent through building a relationship, promise and connection, which requires good storytelling.

A key action is to define your EVP (Employer Value Proposition), or what you WANT to be known for. …the key qualities you’d like to be associated with as an employer (which may be different from current perceptions). it considers your positioning in the market, providing clear reasons to join and stay…and expectations.

It also helps you differentiate and stand-out. Common sense, but we’re amazed how  companies often think they are different but really aren’t or haven’t communicated it effectively (for example,  many claim great cultures or that they work hard and play hard, but  haven’t dug deep enough to capture what makes them unique or tell a compelling story.
